On the Spectrum is the story of my journey with high functioning autism or ASD (Mild). I’m a member of the “invisible generation”, meaning my ASD (Mild) was not diagnosed as a brain disorder when I was a child. This autobiography records my dealing with the disorder alone, while growing up and into middle age. I was diagnosed with ASD (Mild) in my mid fifties at the U.C. Davis Mind Institute.

On the Spectrum also chronicles my response to the diagnosis. I decided to remediate my symptoms of high functioning autism, by creating a program I call “Conversational Therapy”. By working in this program I successfully remediated the symptoms surrounding the language dysfunction associated with ASD (Mild).

The autobiography also records my struggle with a learning disability auditory perceptional dysfunction, which went undiagnosed until after I graduated from U.C. Berkeley. It tells the story of how I remediated this learning disability by working in the Auditory Discrimination in Depth program or ADD Program for short.
