ABOUT TRUDI SULLIVAN
The Gold Falls series of books was created by author Trudi Sullivan. Born in Marysville, California, Trudi is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley with a History major. While working on her senior thesis, she wrote a science fiction children’s novel entitled “Tanzelnalian In Flight.” In her 20’s Trudi was diagnosed with an auditory perceptional dysfunction. This learning disability was remediated by working in the Auditory Discrimination in Depth program, which preceded the Lindamood-Bell Lips program.
In her 50’s Trudi was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Mild at the U.C. Davis Mind Institute. The lack of diagnosis through most of Trudi’s life, meant the lack of treatment and support. Since being diagnosed, Trudi has developed remediation programs including Art Therapy for the Amygdala and Conversational Therapy. Trudi has also engaged in physical and occupational therapy to remediate the symptoms of ASD (Mild). It is Trudi’s goal that the general public gain an understanding of ASD (Mild). Trudi believes raising awareness will help all people who suffer from this condition. Trudi is a member of SPARK, and is currently serving on the SPARK CAC, which is the Spark Community Advisory Council. SPARK—a landmark autism research project—aims to make important progress possible. SPARK stands for ‘Simons Foundation Powering Autism Research,’ and the mission is simple: to speed up research and advance our understanding of autism to help improve lives.
